Basic Requirements
Non-Chinese citizens who are in good health and holding valid ordinary foreign passports. Applicants under the age of 18 are required to provide guardianship certificates.
High school graduate or above is required for undergraduate programs candidates.
Note:
* According to Article 12 [2020] from Ministry of Education, if one or both of the parents are Chinese citizens and live abroad, the child will have foreign nationality at birth, rather than Chinese nationality. or emigrated from China. As a foreign student applicant, shall hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for 4 years or more, and records for living abroad for 2 years or more from April 30, 2018 to April 30, 2022 (the practical residence abroad for 9 months in a year can be considered as one year, subject to entry and exit stamps).
* Residents from the mainland of China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan who apply to study as foreign students at Soochow University after immigrating and acquiring foreign nationality should comply with the above regulations.
Language Requirements
To apply for programs taught in English, applicants must meet at least one of the English proficiency requirements: TOEFL score ≥80 / IELTS ≥6.0 / Native English speaker / English as the medium of instruction for previous program / other evidence of equivalent English proficiency recognized by Soochow University.
